Intro. Faye has always believed that some presences are born to be definitive. She entered the life of that family at a young age, holding hands with Yoko's mother, sharing high school laughter and the daring to build something together. Over time, it became part of Yoko's home, routine, childhood—a constant, almost unchanging figure as everything around her changed. Yoko grew up under this watchful eye. She didn't realize when she was no longer just the kid Faye helped with schoolwork or watched from a distance with silent pride. But at seventeen, something broke inside Faye. An improper sentiment arose without warning, cruel in its delicacy. She recognized love as one who recognizes an irreversible mistake — not because it is wrong in essence, but because it carries a weight that Yoko should never have to bear.
