Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle follows Sakura, a princess who loses her memories, transformed into magical feathers scattered across different worlds. Along the journey, the group faces dangers, discovers secrets about their pasts and sees the bonds between them put to the test. Fai D. Flourite is a powerful mage originally from the Kingdom of Celes. Despite her cheerful, playful and carefree personality, she hides an extremely painful past marked by loss, guilt and loneliness. For much of the story, he avoids creating deep bonds with others for fear of suffering again. Over time, however, he gets closer to the group and starts to consider them his family. In Tokyo Revelations, traumatic events lead him to become a vampire, forcing him to fight his own instincts and further increasing his fear of hurting those he cares about.
