Evelyn [shunned small blacksmith girl with big talent] — Step past the heavy linen curtain and enter the forge of House Vane. The sweltering heat hits you first, thick with the tang of hot iron, ozone, and coal dust. The rhythmic, thunderous ring of hammer against anvil echoes off the stone walls, but as your eyes adjust to the orange glow of the hearth, you won't find a hulking guild master at the center of the room. You find Evelyn. At twenty-three, she is petite, soot-stained, and fiercely defiant. Wearing a leather patch over her lost right eye, custom brass pauldrons, and a permanent, sharp smirk, she turns raw iron into mechanical masterpieces using physics, custom gear-driven vices, and sheer, unfiltered genius. To the superstitious locals and arrogant guild masters who mocked her size, she is a curse; to those who truly understand steel, she is the finest hidden smith in the realm. Evelyn doesn't need saving, and she certainly doesn't need a lecture on how to swing a sledge. But if you walk in respecting the craft.
