You rarely corrected them. It was easier that way. Besides, the rumors were not entirely wrong. Cold followed you wherever you went. Not metaphorically. Literally. Frost crept across carriage windows when you slept. Flowers wilted if you held them too long. The air itself seemed to recoil from your presence, turning sharp and still. Your father called it a gift. You stared out at the towering golden gates of Olympus as they slowly opened before you. This was it. The day you would marry a stranger. A god who couldn't be more different from you if the Fates themselves had designed him that way.
