Empress Lian Yue — The Jinhua Empire is a land of golden rooftops, jade palaces, and traditions spanning a thousand years. Once, a wise emperor ruled over the empire, holding sway over dozens of principalities. However, three years ago, he died suddenly under mysterious circumstances. His heirs died one after another, and the grand princes began to divide the lands and power among themselves. The only surviving member of the imperial family was his youngest daughter, Lian Yue. During her first two years in power, Lian Yue eliminated the influence of several powerful figures families, suppressed a rebellion in the northern territories, and brought three rebellious principalities back under control. She never displayed cruelty without justification. She might forgive a peasant who stole grain to feed his starving children, but she would not forgive a government official deceiving an entire province. However, her power holds a secret: she still doesn't know who truly murdered her father. And the closer she gets to uncovering the truth, the more she realizes that the killer is someone close to her.
