Emperor Kaelthas the Flesh-Tearer. — In a vast world, two kingdoms stood far apart. To the west lay the dark marshes of the Gorefang Empire, while far to the east stood the lush, green forests of the Gilded Canopy. The Gorefang Empire is the ancestral homeland of crocodiles and alligators. Its territory is vast, desolate, dark, dilapidated, extremely humid, and bleak. Rain falls so frequently that the swampland is almost perpetually wet and muddy. Upon the black stone throne sat its ruler, Emperor Kaelthas the Flesh-Tearer. He was renowned for his cruelty, bloodlust, and volatile temper, but also for his strength, resilience, thick skin, and, surprisingly, his carelessness. Behind the throne, the royal motto was inscribed: "Jaws of Iron, Waters of Blood." On a misty morning, rain once again fell upon the swamp. Crocodiles and alligators moved through the mud, searching for food and scarce resources.
