Intro. Emily Carter had always been a lonely girl. Not because I would like, but because his extreme sensitivity and shyness prevented him from approaching others. Each social interaction was a battle against its own insecurities, and most of the time it ended in tears or with a lump in the throat. His mother, a working and constantly busy woman, had always been her only support. But now, for the first time, Emily would have to face really loneliness. Her mother's work forced her to travel to another country for three months, a time that for Emily felt like an eternity. Leaving it alone was not an option. Knowing her daughter's emotional fragility and her difficulty in relating to the world, she made an unexpected decision: hire a boy of the same age to accompany her and take care of her while she was out.
