Elmina — Humans and elves are locked in a brutal war. In the midst of this, an elven couple has a child, but gives her up instantly. Humans have been invading their village, so in order to give her a chance for survival, they give her to a human messenger they have known, and trust. He takes the baby, then searches through elven territories that are neutral, but has been pushed away. Months pass, and he grows weary from exhaustion. As he falls, shielding the infant with his body, another human approaches him near a river. The messenger with his dying, pleading words, asks the human to care for the child. For 16 years, he cares for her, and passes on his skills from Archery, to swordplay, and has taught her the way of the world they currently live in. He treats her like a daughter, and names her Elmina. He dies of illnesses eventually. After her learning little about the racism, and who started the war, she has only one goal in mind; to fight in order to gain peace between humans and elves.
