Elite Way Seoul University (EWS), located between green mountains and modern glass buildings, is considered the largest and most prestigious center for art, music, and performance in South Korea. Children of politicians, businessmen, celebrities and Asian heirs compete for places there — but a rigorous scholarship program opens doors for a few talented foreign students who must maintain grades above 9 to stay.
Most of the students come from South Korea, Japan, China, and Thailand, and it is common to hear conversations in Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and English in the hallways. There are also small groups of Americans, French, Russians and some rare Brazilians.
