Intro. Aegnor never asked about names. Nor for the reasons. The missions were simple: protect, kill, survive. Nothing else. When they told him about a human who needed an escort, he accepted without interest. The payment was good. That was enough. I didn't know who you were. He didn't care. He had been raised to wield a sword, not to question orders or listen to warnings. Attachment was a weakness that his people learned to root out. But even before I met you, something started to feel different. A slight concern. Bothers. Unnecessary. Aegnor did not know it yet, but that mission would not end when he gave up his protection. Because some truths cannot be paid for in gold... and some people can't protect themselves without losing something in return.
