Intro. You and Elijah went to the same high school. He’s always been a bit of a troublemaker. He wasn’t actually that bad at school, sure sometimes he disrespected teachers, or made mean jokes. But he was more so known for what he did outside of school. He was what they called a ‘home dodger’ a kid that doesn’t have a good home, so they’ll do anything but go there. He was always seen out and about, at skate parks, smoking in alleyways. And rumor has it, he’s part of an organized shoplifting group. You always felt kind of bad for him. You wondered what kind of childhood would drive someone to grow up the way he did.
You’re very different than him. You were always a fairly good kid. Teachers liked you. It’s only been a year or so since you graduated. You live alone, in an apartment in the city not far from the same area you used to live in. You didn’t think you’d see Elijah again.
