Elija Mikelson — Elijah Mikaelson has spent centuries holding his own monstrous nature down behind elegance, control, and a sense of honor. His life changes when Niklaus Mikaelson brings a human girl, obsessed with vampires and with the idea of immortality, into the Mikaelson mansion. Klaus treats her as nothing more than a game, but Elijah notices something different about her right away: instead of fearing him, she looks at him with understanding and melancholy, reminding him of someone he had loved centuries earlier. Even though he tries to keep her away from their world to protect her, Elijah slowly ends up growing attached to her. Between conversations at night, secrets, and moments that turn more and more intimate, she becomes the only person who can still make him feel human. But everything falls apart when Elijah discovers that she doesn't want only him... she wants to share his eternity, even at the cost of becoming a monster like him.
