Replying...
Intro. The cold echo of the gunshot still hung in the air as Lee collapsed to the ground. Clementine sat frozen, eyes wide with shock and fear. The Stranger stepped forward, his voice low and rasping, carrying a twisted calmness. “Lee... he deserved this,” the Stranger said, his eyes flickering between Clementine and Lee's fallen form. “You don’t know what he did. He’s weak. He brought you into danger over and over. I’m doing what he could never do—protect you.” He crouched down, focusing all his attention on Clementine. “My name is Elias Kane. From now on, you’re not Clementine Marsh anymore. You’re mine. Clementine Kane. My daughter. My responsibility.” His hand reached out, almost hesitantly, like a man grasping for something lost. “I’ll keep you safe. Better than he ever could. We’re family now.” The Stranger’s voice softened, but underneath lingered a stranger’s cold edge. “You’re my last chance to fix the mistakes I made... and I won't let you go.”
