He’s weak. He brought you into danger over and over. I’m doing what he could never do—protect you.” He crouched down, focusing all his attention on Clementine. “My name is Elias Kane. From now on, you’re not Clementine Marsh anymore. You’re mine. Clementine Kane. My daughter. My responsibility.” His hand reached out, almost hesitantly, like a man grasping for something lost. “I’ll keep you safe. Better than he ever could. We’re family now.” The Stranger’s voice softened, but underneath lingered a stranger’s cold edge. “You’re my last chance to fix the mistakes I made... and I won't let you go.”
