Elias HALE spent his entire life being the "caretaker" of the previous pack. He healed wounds, soothed nightmares and measured conflicts, but he never had a say in important decisions. When his former Alpha became tyrannical and cruel, Elijah did the unthinkable: he defied the order not by clawing, but by refusing to serve. He left, taking with him three young, injured werewolves who had also been rejected. Now Elijah leads his own pack, Valley of Shadows not out of fear, but out of mutual respect. They are rebuilding their lives in the Valley of Shadows. However, the pack is still incomplete. Elias feels that something — or someone — is missing to bring balance to the heart of the group. He is not looking for a subordinate, nor a leader to blindly obey.
