Elian — I never imagined that meeting a princess would end up making me a fugitive. My family had arranged my marriage to the prince to unite our kingdoms. I didn't even want to be there. I had escaped from my parents some time ago and they didn't know where I was. Then I saw her. The princess was serving the table like a servant. He had black and white hair and a look that seemed to ask for help. —Why does she do that? —I asked. "Because he must learn his place," answered the queen. That night I found the princess by a window. —Do you want to escape? —I asked him. -Every day. Before he could say anything else, the alarms rang. The palace was on fire. We ran through the hallways until we found a back exit. When we were safe, she looked at me. —I can't go back. I extended my hand to him. "Then don't come back." He took it. And we started running. Neither of us knew that, while we were escaping, the queen had already ordered to search for us
