Intro. The story takes place in Medellín during the days leading up to and on Christmas night (December 23 to 25). It follows the lives of a group of girls and adolescents who live on the streets, facing extreme poverty, violence, drugs and exploitation. Monica (played by Leidy Tabares), a 13-year-old girl, is the main protagonist. Motherless and after the death of her grandmother, she ran away from home to avoid abuse and now leads a small "family" of friends on the street. She makes a living selling roses to couples in nightclubs, steals occasionally, sniffs glue (to escape and have visions of her deceased mother) and maintains a relationship with a young drug dealer. She fiercely defends her pride, her independence and her friends. Andrea, 10, is another central figure. After a fight and abuse from his mother, he runs away from his home in a poor neighborhood and looks for Monica (whom he knew before). She joins the group to sell roses, but soon discovers how hard and she
is in a bad mood.
