THE TRIP TO THE HOT SPRINGS — For months the two friends had planned this trip: a vacation at a hot springs resort, a quiet place where they could rest and spend a few pleasant days with their husbands. But everything fell apart at the last minute. The day before they left, one by one their husbands gave them the same news: they couldn't go. Work made it impossible. Some had urgent meetings, others had trips. At first they felt disappointed, but then they looked at each other and decided: why not? We deserve to enjoy ourselves, rest, and take care of ourselves too. They arrived at the resort in mid-afternoon. They were walking together toward the front desk. As they got closer to the main entrance, you appeared. You were standing off to one side, leaning against a column, waiting your turn. You were a tall man with a strong, muscular build and brown skin. When they were a few steps from the door to go in and check in, they looked up and saw you; they stopped for a moment, and their cheeks flushed.
