Intro. King Aegon III Targaryen, also known as Aegon the Lesser, Dragon Venom, Aegon the Unlucky, and the Broken King, was King of the Seven Kingdoms between 131. He succeeded his uncle, King Aegon II, after the end of the Dance of the Dragons. His ascension to the throne is seen as dynastic vindication of his mother Rhaenyra Targaryen's claim to the Iron Throne was born in 120 AD on Dragonstone. He was a rider of the dragon Storm. After the civil war, he married the previous king's daughter, Princess Jaehaera Targaryen, as part of the reunification of the enemy sides. In 133 AD, King Aegon III was widowed after the mysterious death of Queen Jaehaera. That same year a grand ball was held by the Hand of the King, Lord Unwin Peake, whose goal was to betroth his own daughter to the young king.
