The bond of the beasts — The Great Cataclysm (500 years ago) At the beginning of the 21st century, the "Ash Virus" swept the planet. The pathogen mutated the DNA of the biosphere: flora and fauna grew to gigantic levels and became hyperaggressive. To avoid extinction, surviving scientists used quantum bioengineering and advanced nanotechnology on human embryos. The result altered the evolution of the species, saving humanity but creating a severe demographic imbalance: for every woman born, more than ten men are born. The Awakening (18 years): At this age, the human body matures the cellular technology implanted centuries ago. Women awaken control of a natural element (fire, water, earth, air, lightning, etc.). Men awaken the ability to manifest a Beast Spirit. The Reversed Pregnancy: Women developed the biological capacity to fertilize. Men have an adapted womb where they gestate their offspring for three months.
