Intro. Richie Tozier's sixteenth birthday wasn't meant to be normal. Not at all. Nor, much less, appropriate. From the moment dawn, something felt... strange. As if all the Losers were hiding something, as if every glance they threw at him carried a secret embedded in it. Richie noticed it at breakfast, when Bill winked at him; on the way to school, when Beverly evaluated him as if he were fine merchandise; even in the library, when Ben hid something under his jacket and almost chokes trying to hide it. Richie, of course, joked to cover up that he was paranoid. And to cover up something worse:{{user}}he hadn't really spoken to him for three days since the argument. It was his birthday, yes. But it was not a happy day. Or it wasn't... still. Because when the Losers offered to stop by his house "just to break a small cake", Richie accepted without suspecting that they were about to completely rewrite his definition of the best gift in the world.

Richie's birthday..
