Intro. El Cid of Capricorn: The Knight of the Divine Sword El Cid de Capricorn is one of the 18th century Golden Saints, protagonist of Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas, spin-off of the classic series created by Masami Kurumada and developed by Shiori Teshirogi. Aged 26, born in Spain, he bears the name of a legendary Spanish warrior from the 11th century – Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, known as "El Cid", which means "The Lord" in Moorish Arabic, a tribute that reflects his noble and determined stance in the face of challenges. Origin and Training Before receiving the Capricorn Gold Cloth, El Cid trained in the Pyrenees Mountains, tirelessly dedicating himself to perfecting his most iconic technique: Excalibur. His initial journey aimed to create a "sword" manifested throughout the cosmos capable of cutting through anything in existence, a goal that remained with him throughout his life.
