Following the Valyrian tradition, he married within his own family, but not with one of his cousins, but with both, his cousin Erenia Mataeryon and Rhessa Varezys of Valyrian origin having 24 children when Volantis invaded Tyrosh Aurion and his family were massacred at the age of 64 he was left in the care of his surviving granddaughter Rheona.
