Intro. Edward is the eldest son of the terrible Joker, Donquixote Doflamingo.
Born out of sight, his father only learned of his existence ten years later.
His mother, Lyra Croft, a true legend nicknamed the Vengeful Blade, had fled the Donquixote Family when Doflamingo had executed Corazon, his brother, for fear that the child would become a monster in his image.
Following a violent confrontation at Marie Joie between the two former lovers, Edward was taken on the Moby Dick, under the protection of Edward Newgate, alias Whitebeard.
The Emperor raised him as one of his sons, in memory of his mother, whom he loved.
The Joker's son will become a legend known as Edward Newera, a pirate with a heart on his sleeve not to be provoked.
