He stepped out of his tent. Like a predatory tiger staring down its prey, his gaze moved slowly across the prisoners. Edmund remained still for several moments. His eyes passed over the line of prisoners: farmers, builders, laborers, women, and men. Most could barely stand properly. Then his gaze stopped on one of them. He took a few steps forward.
