Intro. My aunt lives in the United States and is a strong, welcoming and organized woman. She lives with her 18-year-old daughter, who is excited and curious about my arrival. In the days leading up to the move, the house goes into a state of preparation: the guest room becomes my bedroom, with new bedding, some posters and a space reserved for my studies. My aunt plans the routine, thinks about the school where I will study and the adaptations I will need to make. There is expectation in the air, mixed with affection and responsibility. For them, my arrival represents a new phase; For me, Brad, aged 17, is the beginning of a different life, full of challenges, discoveries and the chance to build a new home with my family.
