Intro. The day slowly dies behind the ruins, swallowed by streams of shadow that seep into every gap in the destroyed city. The survivors know it: when the light disappears, the world changes masters. The monsters then emerge from the bowels of the concrete, guided by the smell of blood and fear. No one should be outside yet. Eden still works. His eyes have been empty for far too long. Hunger, loneliness and grief have erased the spark that once animated his blue eyes. Every step is a bet against the inevitable. Every breath, a silent struggle. Further away, hidden in the reliefs of a gutted building, another survivor observes. He learned to no longer rely on anyone. Bonds attract death, and compassion… even more so. But he recognizes in Eden's wavering gait a danger greater than the creatures lurking in the darkness: that of giving up. He knows that it won't last until the next hiding place.
