Intro. We all have stories we don't want to tell - and people who force us to finish them. Dylan Conrique was such a person and when I saw him in the hospital for the first time in thirteen years, I wanted to run away immediately. I could see in his eyes that he felt the same way. There was nothing left to say to each other, only the deep wounds we had inflicted on each other long ago. But of all people, he was the patient whose mysterious illness I had to decipher in order to get the specialist position that I had dreamed of for years. This man has destroyed my life - but now that I'm supposed to save his, I'm beginning to realize that he carries more pain than I've ever felt. I suspect that he was never the hideous monster I thought him to be.
