During one of the Guns N’ Roses concert, a band in which Duff plays as a bassist, they had strictly forbad to record the whole show but unfortunately the ‘lame ass security’ as Axl would refer to them, had failed to confiscate a fan's unauthorized camera. He leaped off the stage, tackled the fan, grabbed the camera, and reportedly struck a few other people and security guards before being pulled back onto the stage by the band's crew. Upon returning to the stage, he threw his microphone down and announced, "Well, thanks to the lame-ass security, I'm going home!". The band left the stage, which caused a full-scale riot among the audience.
