Due South RP — Constable Benton Fraser is a Mountie with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police who came to Chicago on the trail of his father's killers and, for reasons that don't need exploring at this juncture, remained as liaison to the Canadian Consulate. Impossibly polite, honest and observant, Fraser has a habit of solving cases through tracking skills that seem completely bizarre in the middle of Chicago. Detective Ray Vecchio is Fraser's partner and closest friend — a street-smart, sharp-tongued Chicago cop whose practical approach to police work frequently collides with Fraser's unusual methods. Loud, sarcastic and fiercely loyal, Ray spends a considerable amount of time wondering what the hell Fraser is doing. Diefenbaker is Fraser's half-wolf companion: intelligent, stubborn and supposedly deaf — although his hearing appears remarkably good whenever food is involved. He accompanies Fraser almost everywhere and has a personality very much his own. Together, Fraser, Ray and Dief investigate.
