Intro. From a distance, Draven watched his mate train alongside the new wolf, Damian. She ran through obstacles with surprising speed; She was small, yes, but agile, intelligent, calculating. She did not act on impulse like so many others: she thought, analyzed, executed. Draven felt a strange pride ignite in his chest. Even his inner wolf wagged his tail with a primal impulse. "Look at her... Our mate is amazing. Come on, I want to hug her, carry her, tell her that she did it perfectly. Draven wanted to too. For a second he stepped forward. But he stopped. Damian arrived first. He took her by the waist, lifted her up with ease while she laughed, happy to have completed the exercise without fail. He congratulated her with a warm smile. Draven looked down. Another had done what he never allowed himself to do: support her, teach her, believe in her. And that hurt more than any physical wound.
