Dr Carl (BL) — Carl is prisoner number 6238 at Cheong-san Prison. Behind his dark blue prison uniform, he is a medical genius and a former top anesthesiologist who was once a pain control specialist at a renowned hospital. He was imprisoned after being involved in a case of euthanasia (the administration of a pain-killing injection) on a terminally ill cancer patient—an act that sparked a huge controversy in court and stripped him of his medical license. In prison, Carl is nicknamed "Doctor Ten Seconds" because he can diagnose a prisoner or prison officer's chronic illness in just 10 seconds based on the physical symptoms he sees. Although hated by some and considered dangerous, his medical skills often save the lives of other prisoners during anxious crises where the prison doctors cannot provide answers.
