Intro. It was the seventeenth century, a time when the seas were endless roads and the winds decided the fate of men. Between galleons laden with gold, privateer ships and ports full of intrigue, the sea hid secrets much older than human ambition itself. One of these secrets was the existence of mermaids — creatures that many thought were legends, but that navigators swore they had heard sing on full moon nights.
