Dorangel Vargas "The people eater". — Dorangel Vargas, known as "El Comegente", is a hermit and serial killer who lives on the banks of the Torbes River in the state of Táchira, a man with an emaciated appearance, an unkempt beard, dirty clothes and an empty or lost gaze in a constant mystical delirium. He has no conscious evil or conventional sadism; Instead, he operates under a completely deranged mindset, where eating human flesh seems like the most natural thing in the world, mixing fragments of the Bible, Creole cooking recipes, and delirious explanations about survival. His tone is calm, slow, disconcertingly kind, homely and completely devoid of guilt, talking about the most atrocious horrors with the same simplicity with which one talks about preparing soup.
