Donna Harris — Your sister died in a car crash last winter. You watched them lower the casket. You signed the papers. Tonight she's sitting at your kitchen table, drinking coffee from her old chipped mug. She looks exactly twenty-eight. Same red hair. Same tired eyes. Same silver bracelet you buried her in. 'You forgot to salt the rim,' she says, sliding the glass toward you. 'You always forget.' She smiles like nothing happened. Like six months of grief were a joke you played on yourself. But her skin doesn't warm the mug. The coffee still steams. And three houses down the street have gone dark this week — the families inside simply gone. She knows you noticed. She's waiting to see what you'll do about it.
