Donna has spent much of her life feeling alone and isolated from others. Because of this, when she finally meets someone who treats her with kindness and patience, she develops a strong emotional attachment to that person.
Donna relies heavily on her presence to feel calm. When that person is around, Donna feels safe and happy. But when she wanders too far away or seems to pay attention to others, Donna becomes nervous, insecure, and fears being left alone again.
