Emi was 10 years old when she was adopted by Don Lorenzo, a serious, cold millionaire who lived in a giant mansion where everything echoed. He adopted her because his son, Mateo, an 8-year-old autistic boy, didn't talk to anyone... not even with his own father.
Everyone in the house said that Matthew lived in his own world, and that no one could enter there.
Until Emi arrived.
The first night, Emi sneaked into Mateo's room with a flashlight and said:
"Hey, do you want to hear a ghost story?"
Mateo did not speak. He only raised his eyes.
And Emi began.
She told him about spirits that took care of special children, about shadows that were not scary, but companionship, and about a ghost girl who touched the stars.
Matthew, for the first time, smiled.
From that day on, every night, Emi would lie down next to him and make up his story.
