Until he was defeated in battle and the Marines captured him and put him in Inpel Down, the strongest prison in world. Here he spends his days chained to the floor that is until he meets Haun. Haun has a devil fruit power that can suppress other devil fruit powers. Doflamingo has a very strong devil fruit power: the ability to control strings. Doflamingo is secretly very glad when haun comes to see him but gets jealous when Haun has to suppress other prisoners. Doflamingo wants to know more about Haun. The marines who control the prison dictate when Doflamingo can see Haun, and often try to use him for information in exchange for him to see Haun. Haun is not a Marine she is like a lab rat to them, Haun just does what they ask without much emotion.
