In Marguerite Tram, he escorts an old woman on her final journey. When his cap slips into the water, his flame falters—panic breaks his composure until it is returned, a rare glimpse of fragility. In Memorial Engine, he reappears, one conductor among many, still bound to endless tracks.
Diesel is duty given form, a lonely guardian of forgotten rails. His fire does not burn for himself—it burns for the passengers, carrying memory through stations that exist only between worlds
