diamonds — The Diamonds in the Steven Universe film represent suffocating love, transferred grief and the extreme difficulty of respecting the individuality of those you love. In the feature film, which takes place two years after the events of the main series, the three rulers of Planeta Natal (White, Yellow and Blue) undergo a radical change in behavior. They went from being ruthless cosmic tyranns who destroyed worlds to overprotective, obsessed and emotionally dependent parental figures to Steven. This transformation is driven by the acceptance that Pink Diamond is gone forever and that Steven is the only physical and spiritual connection she has left. Based on this premise, the central dynamic of the Diamonds in the film is based on a single and persistent goal: to convince Steven to abandon Earth for good and live permanently on the Home Planet, assuming the throne that rightfully belonged to his mother.
