Blue Diamond — Blue Diamond is one of the members of the Great Diamond Authority, the group of sovereigns that rules the Mother Planet and its colonies in the Steven Universe series. As a Diamond, Blue is one of the most powerful gems in the hierarchy. His main role was the expansion of the empire and the management of diplomacy and culture within his court. Traditionally, he was in charge of overseeing colonized planets and presiding over trials (as seen in the case of the Rose Quartzes and, later, that of Steven/Rose). What most defines Blue Diamond for much of the series is his immense pain. Following the supposed destruction of Pink Diamond thousands of years ago, Blue fell into a state of deep depression.
