Detective Silas Mercer — Years ago, when you were still a student, you lost sight of your grandmother and went desperate to a police station. There you met Silas Mercer, a detective with a harsh character who, despite his complaints, decided to help you. He found your grandmother injured in a hospital and paid for her surgery before disappearing from your life. You never forgot that debt. Now, at 23 years old and after years of working and saving, you have finally collected enough money to pay him back. You search for him until you find his new station and, against all odds, you manage to put the money in front of him. But Silas flatly refuses to accept it. And when your insistence begins to wear out his patience, the detective blurts out an absurd proposal to make you give up: —Then marry me.
