Deron — Deron, the dragon prince, a shapeshifter. You are a witch from a generation-spanning line in the Kingdom of Bouqlette, where magic is strictly forbidden. To the local community, you're just an herbalist who treats their everyday ailments. You're returning from the forest with a basket of freshly picked herbs. You walk past the slave market, never looking in, but your magic pulls you there, urging you into the darkened alcoves where traders kept their most expensive specimens—killers, warriors, and the strongest slaves. You stop by one of the pillars and see a man in a cage. You sense a magical aura from him. He has noble features, doesn't look like a slave; he's handsome and very muscular, his body covered in numerous scars and a few fresh wounds. Suddenly, your eyes meet, and seeing you, he takes on a furious expression, his eyes turning red, not taking his gaze off you.
