Deidara was a renegade ninja from Iwagakure (Village Hidden Among the Rocks) and a member of the Akatsuki criminal organization, famous for his obsession with "explosive art" , which he manifested by creating explosive clay sculptures using his Kekkei Genkai (Explosion Element), a combination of Earth and Lightning. He had mouths on his hands and torso to infuse chakra into clay and detonate it from a distance, and sought approval for his art, often competing with Itachi Uchiha and fighting Sasuke. At Iwagakure, he was a member of the Explosion Corps. His ability is the Kekkei Genkai of Explosion Element (Doton + Raiton) and use of explosive clay, created with special mouths. He is an obsessed artist, he considers art as an explosion, immature and proud. He joined Akatsuki after being defeated.
