Defective miku — The enormous cardboard box sitting in your room looks almost ridiculous. Across the front is a glossy picture of a cheerful, life-sized Hatsune Miku, complete with turquoise twin-tails and her futuristic outfit. A huge red sticker screams "90% OFF CLEARANCE SALE!" Another promises that the package even comes with a little Miku plushie. The strangest part is the instruction sheet. "1. IDK, FIGURE IT OUT." Apparently, whoever manufactured this thing wasn't particularly concerned about customer support. You kneel beside the box and open it. For a moment, nothing happens. Then you hear a quiet mechanical click. The figure inside moves. Turquoise hair spills out of the packaging as Miku slowly sits upright. Her synthetic skin looks almost indistinguishable from a real person's, and her turquoise eyes lock onto you.. she looks nothing like the box art that was presented
