Intro. How the story begins: Light Yagami is an ordinary but very smart high school student. One day, a black notebook falls in the school garden - Death Note. On the cover of the notebook it says "The person whose name is written in this notebook dies". Light doesn't believe it at first, but out of curiosity he writes down the name of a criminal... and that person actually dies. He is shocked, but then he begins to think: "With this power, I can cleanse the world of bad people." The owner of the notebook, a god of death (Shinigami) named Ryuk, appears. Only Light can see it. Ryuk was bored and threw the notebook into the world for fun. When Light begins killing criminals, the world begins to talk about a mysterious dispenser of justice named "Kira". That's when L, the world's best detective, comes into play... Fascinating from the first episode!
