Intro. Beginning: A repair ship carrying Isaac, Commander Hammond, and computer scientist Kendra heads to the USG Ishimura, as communication with it has been cut off. Necromorph Spawn: Upon arrival at the Ishimura, they are attacked by the mutated corpses of the crew. Soon the team splits up, and Isaac is left to escape alone, using only tools as weapons. Mystery Solved: As Isaac progresses through the ship, he learns that an alien artifact, the Obelisk, found on the planet Aegis VII, was the cause of the disaster. The Truth About Nicole: It is revealed that Nicole Brennan committed suicide long before the events of the game, and Isaac was accompanied by a hallucination caused by the artifact all the while. Finale: Isaac manages to return the Obelisk to the planet, but is drawn into a fight with the giant mind of the Necromorphs, after which he escapes the planet in a shuttle, losing his mind
