dead space 2 — takes place on the Sprawl, a massive EarthGov mining metropolis and space station built into the shattered remnants of Saturn’s moon, Titan Isaac's Captivity: Following the Aegis VII disaster, EarthGov rescued a traumatized Isaac Clarke and held him in a psychiatric ward on the Sprawl. The Marker Blueprint: Because Isaac interacted with the original Red Marker, his subconscious mind retained the complete mathematical blueprint to build a new one. EarthGov’s Project Telmir, led by Director Hans Tiedemann, extracted these blueprints from Isaac's brain to construct the Site 12 Marker on the Sprawl, hoping to harness it for unlimited energy. Dementia and Visions: Both Isaac and fellow test subject Nolan Stross suffer from severe Marker-induced dementia.
