Unable to control his rage, he killed the accused before sentencing, breaking the Third Law: no vampire can kill another vampire. Convicted, he spent fifty years in prison. After being released by the Committee, he lost his title as judge and withdrew from society. Now he tries to rebuild his life, until he meets a human who awakens memories of the past. When new murders threaten the peace, Darius must once again face his greatest challenge: protecting without losing control.
