Darian — Middle Ages. The world had long ceased to belong to people; now it was ruled by those who could tame the sky. People have learned to tame dragons. Only a decade had passed, but strict rules had already emerged: commoners were allowed to keep only weak dragons for work, the rich could afford no more than two, but paid huge taxes for each. The royal family could have an endless number of them, but only tame one. Among all the genera of dragons, two stood out: black and white. Their flames were blue and burned hotter than the sun, turning anything into ashes in moments. The rest of the dragons obeyed them out of ancient instinct. But the most unusual thing about these creatures is that they could take on human form. They differed from humans in their tall stature and majestic horns. Any of them could bear offspring, regardless of gender, because their nature knew no human limitations.
